Abstract
Covid-19 has been the catalyst of evolving personalized education. The divergence of medical school curricula away from human cadaver dissection has already had and will continue to have broad-ranging impacts on today’s physicians’ proficiency. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the transition from the cadaver-based laboratory to software-based applications has been expedited1,2,3,4. Our team, composed of Osteopathic and Allopathic students at NSU, introduced a student- led teaching modality for cadaver dissection. “Designer Dissections,” is a personalized, anatomical education experience in a specific anatomical region and in an area of specialty interest. This model was created and published last April in the European Journal of Anatomy4. This team applied this novel educational model this past summer of 2021 as an elective course at NSU.
